Parish Death Notices

Jacinta Dunne née Roche of St Manntan’s Court and formerly Strand Street Wicklow Town who passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at St Vincent’s University Hospital on Monday 20th October 2025. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Sarah. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Derek, daughter Sinead, sons John Paul and Stephen, grandchildren Cian, Callum, Iris, Ruairí, Oisín and Violet along with her siblings Jimmy, Mary, Francis, Lucy and Patrice, son in law Bryan, daughters in law Ashley and Sarah, extended family and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Jacinta will repose at Flannery’s Funeral Home, Bachelors Walk, Wicklow Town from 5pm until 7pm on Wednesday. Removal on Thursday morning at 11.30am walking to St Patrick’s Church arriving for 12 noon funeral Mass after which Jacinta will be laid to rest in Rathnew Cemetery.

Eoghan Whelan of Market Street, Wicklow Town who passed away on Sunday 12th October 2025 peacefully at home with family by his side. A loving dad, son, brother and friend who will be remembered with love and affection by his daughters Jessica, Julie, Áine, Sarah and Georgie, parents Brendan and Ina (née Richardson), siblings Brian, Fionnuala Sinnott, Ciara Walsh, Máirín Dunne, Orla Gear and Eileen Le and by his adored grandchildren Bobby and Elsie, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Removal from Market Street on Wednesday morning at 9.30am at walking pace via the Market Square and Main Street to St Patrick’s Church to arrive for funeral Mass at 10am after which Eoghan will be laid to rest in Glenealy Cemetery.

Catherine O’Toole née Stafford of St Manntan’s Park, Wicklow Town who passed away at her home on Tuesday 30th September 2025. Loving wife of Brian and much-loved mother of Niamh and Noel and adored nanna of Charlie, Tom, James and Ethan. Sadly missed by her mother Josephine, siblings, son in law, daughter in law, mother-in-law Bernadette, extended family and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Removal from the family home on Thursday morning at 9.30am walking via St Laurence’s Road and Hopkin’s Hill to St Patrick’s Church arriving for funeral Mass at 10am after which Catherine will be laid to rest in Killoughter Cemetery.

Tom (Chopper) Vickers of Castle Avenue, Wicklow Town, who passed away on Wednesday 27th August 2025 peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St Vincent’s University Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Ger and Maggie, brother Joe and mother in law Ann. Remembered with love by his wife Avril, daughter Laura and her partner Eoin, sons Mark and David and their partners Melissa and Judy, and by his adored grandchildren Kaia and Mia, siblings Geraldine, Robert and Catriona, father in law Aidan, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, his faithful companion Rooney and many friends.

Tom will repose at the family home from 2pm until 7pm on Friday. Removal on Saturday morning at 10.30am walking via Castle Street, Market Square and Main Street to St Patrick’s Church arriving for funeral Mass at 11am after which Tom will be laid to rest in Rathnew Cemetery.

Gerard O’Brien died suddenly on the 25th August 2025. Deeply regretted by his wife Joanne and family and extended family. A Prayer Service took  place in St Patrick’s Church Wicklow on the 26th August and his funeral mass and burial took place in Enniscorthy. May he rest in peace.
