Gretta (Margaret) Kavanagh née Martin of 43 St Manntan’s Park, Wicklow Town and formerly of Bree, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford who passed away with her family by her side on Saturday 4th July 2026 in the tender loving care of the staff at Wicklow Hospice who made it a home from home in the last weeks of Gretta’s life. Beloved wife and best friend of 61 years to Jim Kavanagh; adored mother of Edward, Diane, Maurice, Jacqueline, Mairéad and Bernadette and cherished Granny of Mark, Louise, Nathan, Lauren, Darren, Leah, Ella, Jamie, Mark, James, Donal and Evie. Lovingly remembered by Annmarie, Aoife, Barry, Paddy and Patrick and also by her sisters, brothers , nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Gretta will rest at the family home on Tuesday from 3pm until 7pm. House private at all other times.

Removal on Wednesday morning at 9.40am walking via St Patrick’s Road to arrive at St Patrick’s Church for 10am funeral Mass after which Gretta will be laid to rest in Barndarrig Cemetery.

originally of Surrey, UK before moving to Ireland with the Walpole family where she became a very long upstanding loved member of the community of Ashford Co. Wicklow and Wicklow Town Co. Wicklow.

Elizabeth Margaret Davidson passed away peacefully, in her 96th year, at Knockrobin Hill, Nursing Home, Co. Wicklow. Deeply loved and treasured by the Bergin family, she was far more than a nanny; she was a constant source of love, kindness, wisdom and unwavering care across generations. Her warmth, gentle nature and quiet strength touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Nanny was our family not through blood but through love and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by the Bergin family, her relatives and friends in England and Ireland, her amazing neighbors, Mary Byrne, Terry, Chris and Ben and the many people whose lives she enriched through her years in Ashford & Wicklow

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Predeceased by her beloved parents and sister Jean. Nanny will be forever loved and sadly missed by Eileen Bergin, Denis Bergin, Karl Bergin, Claus Bergin, neighbors and her wide circle of friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth and the many happy memories she leaves with all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Julia will be deeply missed by her loving partner Tom, her daughters Jean and Brenda, her sons John and Joe, sons-in-law Brian and Keith, daughters-in-law Teresa and Jennifer, her eleven cherished grandchildren Dean, Katie, Hannah, Leah, Matt, Jim, Ronan, Oliver, Aaron, Lily and Julia, her sisters Mona, Betty and Georgie, brother-in-law Ambie , sisters-in-law Dymphna and Patsy, and the Lawler family in Shillelagh. In his 90th year. Holding Denise’s hand, Jim went gently and peacefully through the veil that separates our world from the next. Awaiting him are his parents, Frederick and Bridget, his siblings, Nan, Martha, Kathleen, John and Kit.

Married to Lynda for over 60 years, Jim will be greatly missed by Lynda, Denise (O’Reilly), Robert, Ross, Martin, Jane and Susanne. His treasured grandchildren Amber, Cillian, Cian and Callum O’Reilly, Aiden and Ethan Quinn. His beloved brother Andy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many great friends.

Loving wife of the late Don, also loving Mother and Grandmother to the late Don and Aaron. Celia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin.. She will be sadly missed by her forever loving children, Celia, Annabelle, Noeleen, Donna and Paudie. Their partners George, Shane and Sinéad & her late son Dons partner Jacqui. Grandmother (aka Ma) to Clara, Nicole, Codie, Shauna, Gary, Don, Colm, Grace, Carli, Alyssa.
