John (Johnny) Whelan,  14 Monkton Row, Wicklow Town,  late of Knockainey, Co. Limerick.

who passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his beloved family in his 94th year, after a short illness. Pre-deceased by his loving wife Ellen Whelan, his son Joe and grandson Rodney. sadly missed by his loving children Philip, James, Nuala Tony Seán Gerard Mary Dolores Noreen Eileen Betty Louise and Valerie, daughters and sons in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

John will be reposing at his home at 14 Monkton Row, Wicklow Town, this Sunday evening, 26th March, from 2.00pm to 6.00pm and on Monday from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

Removal Tuesday morning at 9.30am to St Patrick’s Church, Wicklow Town, arriving for 10.00am Requiem Mass. For those unable to attend the Funeral Mass can be viewed by clicking on

Jim Browne of Wicklow Town and formerly of Greystones and Boyle, Co. Roscommon who died suddenly at home on 16th March 2023. Predeceased by his parents Dan and Mary and brother Donal.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Mary, beloved sons Alan, Gerard, James and daughter Sibéal, sisters Mary and Betty, brothers Tommy and Hughie, brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and adored grandchildren Luke, Callum and Lily, extended family and friends.

Jim will repose at Flannery’s Funeral Home, Bachelors Walk, in Wicklow Town, from 5pm until 7pm on Wednesday. Removal at 9.30am on Thursday morning, at walking pace, to St Patrick’s Church, arriving for funeral Mass at 10am followed by a committal service at 12.30pm in Newlands Cross Crematorium, Ballymount Road, Dublin 24, (D24 EP83).

Kitty (Catherine) Jameson née Quinn of The Bank, Rathnew who passed away with family at her side on Wednesday, 15th March 2023, in her 101st year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Tommy and daughter in law Mary. Remembered with love by her sons Michael and Kilian, sisters Martha and Rose, daughter in law Margaret and by all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great granddaughter, extended family and friends.

A life well lived.

Kitty will repose at Flannery’s Funeral Home, Bachelors Walk in Wicklow Town from 6pm until 7pm on Thursday, 16th March. Funeral arriving to St Joseph’s Church, Rathnew on Saturday morning for 11am funeral Mass after which Kitty will be laid to rest in Rathnew Cemetery.

Joseph (Joe) Vickers of Quarantine Hill and formerly Castle Avenue, Wicklow Town, who passed away on Sunday, 12th March 2023, peacefully, at St Columcille’s Hospital. Predeceased by Josephine (Josie née Dalton) his beloved wife and best friend of 47 years and by his parents Ger and Maggie. Remembered with love by his siblings Geraldine, Robert, Tom and Catriona, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The funeral cortège will arrive at Quarantine Hill on Wednesday morning at 9.40am and then proceed at walking pace via Market Square and Main Street to St Patrick’s Church arriving for funeral Mass at 10am followed by interment in Rathnew Cemetery.

Leo Byrne of Urban Villas, The Murrough, Wicklow Town who passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Saturday 4 March 2023 at St Vincent’s University Hospital. Loving husband of the late Anne and much loved father of Peter, Mary, Niamh, Stephen and Joanne. He will be sadly missed by his family, his good friend Ann, siblings Michael and Vincent and their families and by his 17 grandchildren, sons in law, daughters in law and by Siobhan, Caroline and Debbie as well as all his nieces and nephews and his extended family, neighbours and friends.

The family would like to thank the Humby family who showed him such friendship and kindness, they also express thanks and gratitude to Blainroe Lodge Nursing Home for the excellent and compassionate care Leo received for the past two and a half years and to St Vincent’s University Hospital who looked after him in his final days.

Joan O’Reilly née Byrne of 5 Kilmantin Road, Wicklow Town and formerly of Ballinalea Ashford passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loving family on Sunday 26th February 2023. Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael (Mick) and sisters Mary, Madge and Nancy. Lovingly remembered by her son Peter, daughters Siobhan, Michelle, Dara, Rona and Lisa, grandchildren Colin, Fiona, Jack, Caroline, Conor, Malachy and Brandon and her beloved great-grandson Jay, her brother Peter and his wife Mary, brother in law Peter, sister in law Mary, nephews and nieces, extended family, friends and her faithful dog Milly.

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the care of the staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin.Beloved son of the late Tom and Philomena, pre-deceased by his late sister Pat (Patricia).
