SHIELDS, Thomas Joseph – August 9th, 2026, (from Cootehill, Co. Cavan, then New York, Dublin and later Wicklow) husband to the late Mary Dolores Shields (née Mernagh) passed peacefully surrounded by his children Kevin, Ann Marie, Jimi, Siobhán & Eileen, grandchildren Tara, Seán, Sam, Solar, Alannah, Sofia, Lenna & Rhea and sadly missed by his loving family, brothers Seán, Tony, sister Betty and late brother Brendan and late sister Peg, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and his many dear, loyal friends.

Tom will be deeply missed by his entire family and his global network of friends, (mention any town across the world, Tom knew someone there). His magnanimous energy and generous spirit, the central soul of the party, elevated everyone he met with his magic. He championed his family, children and grandchildren whose broken hearts are only consoled knowing he is reunited with Dolores, the love of his life. She now guiding him, on a dance into the heavens. His brilliant light & love has been passed on to many.

Esther passed away on Friday 7th August 2026 peacefully at St Vincents, University Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents James and Elizabeth, daughter Patricia, siblings Bridie, Lilly, Kathleen, May, Jimmy, Joe and Anne and by her partner Pat.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Paul, daughters Rose and Lisamarie, grandchildren Paul, Patrick, Kyle, Sasha, Killian, Caoimhe, Jack and Odhran, greatgrandchildren Summer-Lilly, Fionn, Aria and Bonnie, daughter-in-law Kay, son-in-law Keith, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Our beautiful Mam passed peacefully surrounded by her family who adored her and is reunited with her grandson Jackson, her parents Josie (Josephine) and Billy (William) Doran, her sister Mary and her brothers, Infant Herbert, Baby Christopher and Bobby, sisters-in-law Adele and Nancy and brother-in-law Gerry. Remembered with love and great memories by her children Wayne, Laurissa, Erica and Shaun along with their partners and spouses Julie, PJ, Carlos and Laura and by her grandchildren Patrick, Caragh, Lorcan, Alex, Skye, Kyla and Brie together with her partner Jack and siblings Jim, Billy, Mylie, Ethna, Butch, Anita and Katie, sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Thank you to her doctor, carers, nurses and palliative team and the oncology team that took such great care of JoJo. Thanks also to Wicklow Cancer Support and their wonderful kind drivers for all of their help.

JoJo has requested bright colours and a bit of purple to be worn at her funeral.

JoJo will rest at Flannery’s Funeral Home, Bachelors Walk, Wicklow Town from 5pm until 7pm on Monday.

Removal from the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 9.30am walking to St Patrick’s Church arriving for funeral Mass at 10am after which Josephine will be laid to rest in Rathnew Cemetery.

Peacefully on 6th of August 2026 in the tender care of the wonderful staff of St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, with her loving family and friends by her side. Beloved wife of Pat and adored mother of Emma. She will be sorrowfully missed by her loving family, sisters, nieces and nephews, along with all of her friends.

Gretta (Margaret) Kavanagh née Martin of 43 St Manntan’s Park, Wicklow Town and formerly of Bree, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford who passed away with her family by her side on Saturday 4th July 2026 in the tender loving care of the staff at Wicklow Hospice who made it a home from home in the last weeks of Gretta’s life. Beloved wife and best friend of 61 years to Jim Kavanagh; adored mother of Edward, Diane, Maurice, Jacqueline, Mairéad and Bernadette and cherished Granny of Mark, Louise, Nathan, Lauren, Darren, Leah, Ella, Jamie, Mark, James, Donal and Evie. Lovingly remembered by Annmarie, Aoife, Barry, Paddy and Patrick and also by her sisters, brothers , nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Gretta will rest at the family home on Tuesday from 3pm until 7pm. House private at all other times.

originally of Surrey, UK before moving to Ireland with the Walpole family where she became a very long upstanding loved member of the community of Ashford Co. Wicklow and Wicklow Town Co. Wicklow.

Elizabeth Margaret Davidson passed away peacefully, in her 96th year, at Knockrobin Hill, Nursing Home, Co. Wicklow. Deeply loved and treasured by the Bergin family, she was far more than a nanny; she was a constant source of love, kindness, wisdom and unwavering care across generations. Her warmth, gentle nature and quiet strength touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Nanny was our family not through blood but through love and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by the Bergin family, her relatives and friends in England and Ireland, her amazing neighbors, Mary Byrne, Terry, Chris and Ben and the many people whose lives she enriched through her years in Ashford & Wicklow

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Predeceased by her beloved parents and sister Jean. Nanny will be forever loved and sadly missed by Eileen Bergin, Denis Bergin, Karl Bergin, Claus Bergin, neighbors and her wide circle of friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth and the many happy memories she leaves with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
